West Houston’s Lakeside neighborhood include Lakeside Forest and Lakeside Estates, a community that was established in the late 60’s on the West side of Houston’s Memorial area. This is a smaller community; there are only 545 homes that were built in this community. Lakeside homes enjoy an ideal location just seven miles from the Galleria area, and is close to Terry Hershey Park. This is a great place to live if you are an outdoor enthusiast; there are over 12 miles of hiking and biking trails along Buffalo Bayou.
Homes in Lakeside are affordable. At the time of this post, there were only ten property listings for sale, and nine of them were priced under 400K. For as little as the low 200’s you might be able to find a nice two story bank-owned home in Lakeside Forest that just needs a little updating, or perhaps a meticulously maintained and updated patio home for just a few dollars more. On the top of the price spectrum, expect to find fantastic estate homes on large cul-de-sac lots that cover over an acre.
